Wonder received the best Christmas present this year when the girl group, M.O, got in touch to share positive vibes and promote the life-changing work that we undertake with the help of our incredible partners in Nigeria to give girls and women the chance to take control of their future.
Empowerment through education
Poverty, poor provision and conflict present significant barriers when it comes to providing education for young people, with girls often enough at the receiving end. There are many young women in Nigeria who are ambitious about changing their lives and the situation of their families in 2018 but without the skills and education or finances to pay for tuition fees, they don't have the opportunity to do so.
Through our partners, we fund vocational training scholarships, health education, and outreach activities to provide young women with the opportunities they deserve to create a better future for themselves and their families.
Our current priorities focus on scholarships, teacher training (so schools are able to provide the best quality, up-to-date, education) and updated resources and equipment.

A brighter future for all
"I know that I need to finish school if I want to get a job. I don’t want my children to be hungry. I don’t want to get married until l I finish my education. Some of my classmates who dropped out of school already have babies but I want to continue to get training in hospitality as cookery is something that I have really enjoyed in the Orisun classes." - Preye, a student from our partner school in Ibadan, Orisun.
