Sharing food, sharing stories - Panorama, Poland

Friday, June 1, 2018

In line with FATIMA’s holistic approach and emphasis on the development of practical, everyday skills, migrant women in Wroclaw attended a workshop on Polish cuisine hosted by our partner Panorama and learned to make two staples: biała kiełbasa (Polish white sausage) and żurek (a soup based on fermented rye).

Julia, a migrant from Ukraine who came to Poland seven years ago, helped lead the workshop. The involvement of prior migrants within our integration and empowerment work not only puts the participants at ease, but hearing the experiences and expertise of these women is truly inspiring and provides motivation for attendees to continue with the workshops and sessions.

A big thank you to Julia – we look forward to future workshops!
